On July 7, Wang Kai, president of CAUPD and a national master of engineering survey and design, held cooperation talks with Tom Duke, Deputy Trade Envoy and Minister Counsellor of the British Embassy in China.The two sides mainly exchanged views on topics related to urban planning and construction such as urban renewal/Regeneration, green, low-carbon and sustainable development, and reached certain consensus on promoting practical cooperation between the Chinese Regulatory Court and British enterprises.
President Wang Kai said that under the framework of the MOU signed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China and the Department for International Trade of the United Kingdom, the international exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the field of green and low-carbon city construction have been continuously deepened.For the next step, it is hoped that the two sides can promote the complementary advantages of professional fields, jointly promote the implementation of more cooperation projects, and further strengthen the academic exchanges between the two institutions.
Deputy Ambassador Tom Duke believes that there is great potential for China-UK cooperation in urban renewal, including urban planning, green infrastructure, smart technology, conservation and utilization of historical and cultural heritage, residential renewal and project management.We look forward to further cooperation under the framework of the Memorandum of understanding between the relevant ministries of the two countries, especially in the field of low-carbon and green city construction, more technical communication between the two sides, and the promotion of research on relevant international standards.
