Zhang Jing is the chief planner and professor Senior Urban Planner of China Academy of Urban Planning and Design. He is also the Chairman of the Women Planners Committee of China Urban Planning Association, the Chairman of the Urban Master Planning Academic Committee of China Urban Planning Society, the member of the Academic Working Committee of Urban Planning Society, the member of the higher Education Urban and rural Planning Professional Evaluation Committee of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and the vice chairman of the sixth Council of Beijing Urban Planning Society. Over the past 30 years, she has presided over and participated in a number of major planning research and planning preparation work, and published a number of academic papers with outstanding academic achievements. The results of the project "Urban Planning, Management and Development in China in the 21st Century", which she participated in, have aroused great repercussions in the world, and won the academic book award of the International Institute of Planners, which is the first award in the planning field of China. She presided over and participated in a series of major topics such as "Reform and Innovation of Urban master planning preparation methods", "Urban Master planning approval Methods", "Research on technical standard system of Urban and rural Planning" and "Urban Land Classification and planning and construction standards", and the research results were adopted by decision-making departments such as the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and played a positive role in promoting the reform of Chinas planning system. She organized more than 300 experts in the planning industry across the country to compile 11 volumes of "Urban Planning Data Set", which became the preferred reference book for the planning and design industry and was well received and republished many times. She undertook a large number of urban planning and design projects, and the "Xinjiang Urban System Planning" played an important role in guiding the mainlands work to assist Xinjiang; The "Tianfu New District Master Plan", "Guangzhou City Development Strategic Plan 2030", "Nanjing City Overall Development Strategy and Spatial Layout Plan" and "Guangzhou City Master Plan" have become important guiding documents for the healthy development of these regions and cities. The "Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration Development Plan", "Chengdu-Chongqing Urban Agglomeration Development Plan" and "Beibu Gulf Urban Agglomeration Development Plan" jointly organized by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development played an important role in the urbanization development of these regions. She led the compilation of the "Guidelines for the construction of Urban Child-friendly Space" jointly issued by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Women and Children Working Committee of The State Council, and participated in the formulation of a series of work such as the "Child-friendly City Monitoring and Evaluation System", providing technical support for the construction of child-friendly cities in China during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. The project has won 2 first prizes and 4 second prizes of National Excellent Urban and Rural Planning and Design Awards, 2 second prizes of Huaxia Construction Science and Technology Awards, and 2 third prizes of Excellent planning and design of the Ministry of Construction. In April 2017, she won the national "Womens Achievements" model, was elected as a representative of the 12th National Womens Congress in 2018, won the honorary title of "National March 8 Red Flag Bearer" in 2019, and was a member of the 12th Executive Committee and the 13th Executive Committee of the All-China Womens Federation, enjoying the special government allowance in 2020.
