Mr. ZHU Ziyu previously served as Chief Planner of the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design (CAUPD), with the title of Professorate Senior Urban Planner. Graduated from the Department of Architecture from Tsinghua University in 1984, he is a recognized expert who enjoys special allowance from the State Council. ZHU Ziyu holds the position of Vice Chairman of Urban Design Committee of the Science and Technology Commission of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development(MoHURD). He is also the Chairman of the Academic Committee of Urban Design at the Urban Planning Society of China(UPSC). Throughout his career, ZHU Ziyu has presided over dozens of urban master planning, urban design, and regulatory planning projects. These projects include municipalities, provincial capitals, special economic zones, and cities abroad. He played a key role as the technical person-in-charge for planning in the submission for approval for the Xiong’an New Area. Additionally, he has provided on-site guidance on post-disaster reconstruction planning, design, and construction of new Beichuan County on behalf of CAUPD. Mr. ZHU also participated in the preparation of the Urban Design Management Measures by MoHURD. He has over 40 published papers and authored Planning of New Beichuan County, Architecture of New Beichuan County and Cities Stories
