CHEN Ming
Mr.CHEN Ming holds the position of Deputy Chief Planner at the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design(CAUPD). He also serves as the Deputy Director of the Academician Office(CAUPD Think Tank Research Center) and the Deputy Director of the Institute of Regional Planning, where he leads the research efforts.

He also serves as the Deputy Director of the Academician Office(CAUPD Think Tank Research Center) and the Deputy Director of the Institute of Regional Planning, where he leads the research efforts.
With a doctorate degree and the title of research fellow, Mr.CHEN is the Secretary General of the Academic Committee on Regional Planning and Urban Economy of the Urban Planning Society of China(UPSC). He is also the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Urban Planning International(UPI). His research focuses on urbanization, regional planning, river basin planning, and urban economy. CHEN Ming has participated in and led multiple key research projects, including those initiated during the 11th Five-Year Plan and 12th Five-Year Plan. These projects include Study on the Assessment and Forecast of China’s Speed and Quality of Urbanization, Key Scenario Analysis and Dynamic Simulation of Territorial Space, Identification of City Clusters in China by Categories and Assessment of Spatial Growth Quality. He has also contributed to the Study on Planning and Construction of Contiguous Zones in Large Cities and Study on Development Strategy of Urbanization with Chinese Characteristics, by the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He has also been involved in regional and urban planning projects across China, such as the Yangtze River Economic Belt, Xinjiang Autonomous Region, Sichuan Province, Jiangxi Province, Beibu Gulf of Guangxi, Guanzhong Plain(Weihe Plain), Xi’an of Shaanxi Province, Ningbo of Zhejiang Province, Taiyuan and Datong of Shanxi Province, Zhangzhou of Fujian Province, Liaocheng of Shandong Province, Yichun of Jiangxi Province, among others.
