LIU Jihua
Mr. LIU Jihua holds the position of Deputy Chief Planner at the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design (CAUPD). He is a Professorate Senior Urban Planner and Certified Urban and Rural Planner. Additionally, he serves as the Deputy General Manager of CAUPD (Beijing) Planning and Design Consultants Ltd.
Mr. LIU Jihua holds the position of Deputy Chief Planner at the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design (CAUPD). He is a Professorate Senior Urban Planner and Certified Urban and Rural Planner. Additionally, he serves as the Deputy General Manager of CAUPD (Beijing) Planning and Design Consultants Ltd.
With a Ph.D. in Management from Renmin University of China, his primary research interests revolve around urban master planning, new area planning, and urban design. He has extensive experience, having led and participated in over 50 planning and design projects. These projects encompass various types, including provincial urban system planning, urban master planning, new city and new area planning, urban design, regulatory planning, urban renewal and betterment, among others. Some of the notable projects that Mr. LIU has been involved in include the Sanya Haitang Bay District Planning, Chengdu Tianfu New Area Master Plan, Beijing Pre-Olympic Environment Improvement Plan, Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Master Plan, Wenchuan Post-Earthquake Reconstruction, Deyang Urban System Planning, Harbin City Master Design, Sanya City Master Plan, Chongqing Central Park and Liangjiang International Center Area Plan and Design, Suining City Master Plan, and Beijing South Central Axis Dahongmen Area Detailed Plan. More than 10 of these projects have received the National Outstanding Urban and Rural Planning and Design Award. He has also presided over scientific research projects such as the White Paper on National New City and New District Planning and Construction Management and Resilient City Planning and Construction Based on Risk Prevention for the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development(MoHURD). He has published over 10 academic papers and co-authored the book China’s New Cities and New Districts in 40 Years: History, Assessment, and Prospects. He has also co-edited the Planning of Tianfu New Area: Theoretical and Practical Explorations of Ecological Rationality in Planning.
