Mr. WANG Zhongjie holds the position of Deputy Chief Engineer at the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design(CAUPD). He is also the Director General of CAUPD Institute of Landscape Area Planning and a Professorate Senior Engineer.
In addition to his roles at the academy, Mr. WANG serves as an expert member of the National Culture Park Planning and Development Committee, and as a member and Secretary-General of the Landscape Expert Committee of MoHURD Science and Technology Commission. He is the Chairman of the Planning and Design Branch of the Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture, the Chairman of the Municipal Greening and Landscape Engineering Sub-Committee of the China Municipal Engineering Association, and the Vice-Chairman of the Landscape and Ecology Branch of the China Engineering and Consulting Association. Furthermore, he is an editorial board member for multiple magazines, such as the Chinese Landscape Architecture, Natural Protected Areas and Landscape Architecture. He has published more than 20 papers, monographs, and translations. His works include Landscape Poetry, Catalysts in Transitional Development of China, Landscape Architect, People-Centered City, and Project Planning and Management for Ecological Restoration. His research interests primarily focus on national parks, urban ecological protection and development, resource conservation and utilization in coastal areas, urban renewal, and landscape planning and design of urban green parks. Throughout his career, Mr. WANG has led and participated in over 50 planning and design projects, such as the Master Plan of Yellow Emperor Mausoleum National Culture Park, Planning and Design of Hangzhou Xixi Scenic Site, Planning and Design of Xuzhou Yunlong Lake Scenic Site, Regulatory Plan of Xiong’an New Area Zhongyuan Cluster, and Navigation Planning and Landscape Design for Tourism in the Langfang Section of Hebei North Canal. His contributions have been recognized by prestigious awards, including the China Award for Science and Technology Progress by MoHURD, the Outstanding Urban and Rural Planning and Design Award by MoHURD, and the Science and Technology Progress Award for Excellent Planning and Design by Chinese Landscape Architecture.
