Mr. PENG Xiaolei serves as Deputy Chief Planner and Division Director of the Science and Technology Department at the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design(CAUPD), with the title of Professorate Senior Urban Planner.
Currently a PhD candidate at Tsinghua University, his expertise extends beyond his role at the academy, as he is a member of the Village and Township Development Committee of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development(MoHURD) and a council member of the China Engineering and Consulting Association(CEDA). He holds part-time mentor positions at both Harbin Institute of Technology and Beijing University of Technology. Furthermore, he contributes to the training of trainers for national certified planners as a lecturer in master planning. His research primarily focuses on urban master planning and city clusters. He has taken charge of numerous key scientific research projects, as well as planning and design projects. Notably, he has led major projects of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, including Zhejiang Coastal Urban Development Strategy, Zhejiang Province Urban System Planning, Guangzhou Municipal Development Strategy, Chengdu-Chongqing City Cluster Planning, and Gui’an New Area Master Planning, among others. His contributions have been recognized with multiple first and second prizes for planning and design of national excellence. Moreover, he has published over ten academic papers.
