Mr. WANG Ruizhu is an academic advisor and researcher of the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design(CAUPD) as well as an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering. He obtained his degree from the Department of Architecture at Tsinghua University and further enriched his knowledge as a visiting scholar at the Paris School of Architecture (UPA6) in France. With a strong background in architecture, Mr. WANG specializes in architectural theory, urban and architectural history, and the preservation and planning of historic environment.
The work of Mr. WANG, the Preservation and Planning of Overseas Historic Environment is the first academic monograph in China that systematically delvesthe protection of historic environment. It was awarded the First Prize of Scientific and Technological Progress by the former Ministry of Construction. The series of World History of Architecture compiled by Mr. WANG is a multi-volume collection of general history in world architecture based on field investigation and collection of original materials, combined with the latest research findings at home and abroad. It consists of 18 volumes and 48 sub-volumes, among which 15 volumes and 39 sub-volumes have been published. The first three volumes were awarded the First Prize in China Award for Science and Technology in Construction. With him serving as a consultant, the film titling Conservation of Ancient Architecture in Europe won the Outstanding Film Award of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (Government Prize).
