Mr. YANG Baojun holds the position of Chief Economist at the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MoHURD). He previously served as the President of the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design (CAUPD). With expertise as a National Engineering Survey and Design Master and a Professorate Senior Urban Planner, Mr. YANG has played a key role in numerous influential projects. His extensive portfolio includes leading, participating in, and directing a wide range of planning, designing, consulting, and research initiatives. Notable projects he has been involved in encompass the Site Selection Study for Beijing Olympics, the revision of the Methods for Preparation of Urban Planning, the Study on the Coordinated Development of the Pearl River Delta City Clusters, the 2020 Guangzhou Strategic Consultation, the Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Master Plan, the Integrated Urban-Rural Plan of Hainan Province, and the Post-Disaster Reconstruction Plan of Yushu. Additionally, he has contributed to the Study on Belt and Road Initiative Spatial Strategy, the Call for Planning and Design Proposals for Expo 2010 Shanghai China, the Study on Renewal Technology to Build Livable Communities for Old Residential Areas by the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Planning for Xiong’an New Area. Mr. YANG has been recognized through six first prizes and nine second prizes for National Outstanding Urban and Rural Planning and Design Award. Moreover, he has published over 50 academic papers. In 2013, he was selected as an expert in the “National Million Talents Program,” and in 2016, he was honored with the title of National Outstanding Science and Technology Professionals by the China Association for Science and Technology.
