This standard is revised from the Code for Scenic Attractions Planning GB 50298-1999, which has improved and expanded the content of the original Code on master planning. The standard considers the characteristics of scenic attractions in China. Through integrated innovation, it clarifies for the first time the positioning and components of the master planning standard for scenic attractions. Guided by the approach of resource-based and protection-oriented development which is supplemented by resources utilization and strikes a balance with economic and social development, it intends to develop scenic attractionsa model for “harmonious coexistence of man and nature” through proper planning and construction. Together with the Standard for Detailed Planning of Scenic Attractions GB/T50294-2018, the standard establishes a clear technical system for the planning of scenic attractions and promotes the overall technical development and progress of the industry. It was awarded with the Second Prize of the 2019 Science and Technology Progress Award of the Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture.
