As a mandatory code for project construction, the code is revised on the basis of the Technical Code for Urban Rail Transport GB50490-2009, of which all provisions shall be strictly enforced. The code provides for the engineering project to protect people’s lives and property safety, personal health, engineering safety, ecological and environmental safety, public rights and interests, as well as to meet the bottom-line control requirements such as to promote energy and resources conservation and utilization and socio-economic management. The content consists of five components: total scale, planning layout, project function, performance, and key technical measures. The code sets out the guideline that all parties involved in the construction of urban rail transit projects shall comply with, serves as the technical basis for the management to supervise and manage the construction of urban rail transit according to law and also acts as the only superior code and basic foundation that shall be observed in the standardization of urban rail transit construction.
